My first milestone -1970
It was certainly a momentous year. After graduating from British Columbia Institute of Technology (Vancouver, BC, Canada), I landed back in Singapore seeking a good job at one of many hotels at that time. I was only 23 years old and had little senior management experience in the travel and hospitality industry. But I learned fast how to seek for the right interview for the right job I wanted. The happy outcome? I landed my first job as General Manager of a boutique hotel. I was told at that time I was probably the youngest hotel manager in Asia, and possibly in Asia. Since that momentous milestone in my travel and hospitality career, I have not stopped learning and traveling, acquiring new ideas and knowledge.
Learning never stops. Neither should travel. Travel teaches us many things. Sense of Compassion. Attitude of Gratitude. Sense of wow and wonder! No one is as smart as all of us. So, we learn and keep learning. Our mind stays young and younger. Life is wonderful. Travel keeps you there. To travel is to live.
